November 28, 2024

Bespa has been awarded the prestigious title of 'Interior Designer of the Year' at this year's Exeter Property Awards, celebrating a year of impressive growth, innovation, and successful projects across the southwest.

The company’s owners, Graham Sweetinburgh and Helen Bedford, expressed their pride on this achievement:

‘We are immensely proud & thrilled to be named 'Interior Designer of the Year'. This is a true testament to the commitment & hard work of our team. Thank you, to our clients, partners & suppliers for all your valued support’.

The past twelve months have been transformative for Bespa, driven by a series of high-profile workspace design and build projects. Notable projects include a new office for Unity5 in Exeter, the creation of Cuckoo’s new business services department, a facility for mental health charity Second Step in Bristol, and a delivery and innovation center for MK Test in Bridgwater.

Central to Bespa’s approach is a commitment to understanding the unique needs of each client and their employees. This process includes engagement with employees, which enables the team to create spaces that support varied tasks, accommodate neurodiversity, and encourage collaboration. This strategy was particularly impactful at Unity5’s new workspace, where employee insights shaped a flexible environment that supports both productivity and well-being.

“The office space that Bespa has created makes it a pleasure to come into work to collaborate with colleagues, catch-up and be in an environment that promotes productivity, fun and a feeling of belonging and wellbeing.” Maggie Seager, Unity5

Bespa’s client-centred design approach has earned them excellent feedback, leading to repeat commissions and referrals. For example, their work with Cuckoo (formerly Jurassic Fibre) on a business services workspace demonstrated the company’s ability to build strong, ongoing relationships with clients.

In addition to these completed projects, Bespa has secured several new design and fit-out projects, including Stephens Scown in Southernhay, a new workspace for Porter Dodson in Dix’s Field, and Olympus Power in Exeter.

Bespa’s continued growth, driven by successful project completions and strong client relationships, provides the company with a strong platform for the future.
